About

Welcome!

Thanks for visiting! We would love to serve you in any way needed, so please feel free to contact me, one of our church staff, or one of our elders if you so desire.

Here at Trinity we believe our purpose is to center our lives around Jesus, love one another and love the world. But we also believe, that as normal human beings, we are broken and messy. But our sure hope is in a Savior whose grace is bigger than all of our mess. In fact, it’s that grace that we hope is the very center of who we are and all that we do, and we believe this is the grace that everyone needs.

We are so thankful to be in Asheville and absolutely love this community. We think God has strategically placed us here to love the people AND the place as witnesses to His Kingdom, a Kingdom that consists of every people group.

So, no matter who you are, or where you come from, you are more than welcome here! We’d love for you to join us!

Grace & Peace,

Chad Smith
Lead Pastor

Our Purpose

Our Purpose Statement
Centering Our Lives around Jesus, Loving one Another, Loving the World.

What We Believe

We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe all are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by His mercy.

We believe salvation is a work of God. We believe He saves based on His grace alone, through faith alone, and not based on any human individual merit.

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.

We believe Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself.

We believe all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

What is the Gospel?

The world is not what it should be. Just look around, and you will see hurting people, broken relationships, injustice and violence of every kind, death. Nor are we what we should be. We may respond to the pain with fear, doubts, and even despair. Or perhaps we turn to things like money, sex, work, comfort, power, and approval for help only to realize these things end up controlling us—leaving us empty and unsatisfied.

The Gospel is the good news that in Jesus, God has broken into this world of suffering, sin, and death to bring us a new life!

We believe Jesus has lived the perfect life we are not living; He has taken our guilt and punishment on Himself on the cross, and has risen from the dead reconciling us to God.

Because of the gospel, He gives us His Spirit, replacing our emptiness and despair with a new joy flowing from a heart enabled and empowered to enjoy God and love others. In fact, Jesus has begun to restore all things. He is freeing all of creation from its slavery to suffering and death. And he graciously calls us to turn from our sins, to depend upon him alone, and—setting aside our fears and failures—to live with hope in who he is, what he has done, and what he will do!

Our Structure

We operate under the Presbyterian form of government. The church Session consists of the pastors and the elders as elected by the congregation, who together are charged with maintaining the spiritual government of the church. (BCO 12-5) In addition, elected deacons help oversee the operation of practical ministries and care of our facilities.

Under the Session, our ministries are divided into the following categories: Congregational Care, Discipleship-Adults, Discipleship-Children and Youth, Missions and Community Care, Operations, and Worship and Vision. Each category then contains several teams. Teams are ministries within our church that work to carry out our vision statement in a variety of ways and are made up of adult men and women within our membership.
