We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.
1 Thessalonians 2:8
To assist parents in the Christian nurture of their children by teaching infants through fifth graders to know God through Jesus Christ resulting in a change of heart, mind and lifestyle in order that they would believe Christ is the Son of God and that only through Him are they assured of eternal life. To also teach and encourage our children to worship our Triune God and to understand that Jesus is God and that the Trinity includes God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Classes and Curriculum
There is one Sunday School hour for all children infants through fifth grade. There are classes for each age level based on the child’s date of birth and/ or grade level. Children are promoted each June. The curriculum emphasizes worship, knowledge, prayer and life application. The curriculum is age appropriate. There are two teachers in each class. Teachers are required to be a member in good standing of Trinity and/or are approved by the Session before they may teach. The teachers provide a safe place spiritually, emotionally and physically for our children. They explore Biblically sound ways to meet the different needs and learning styles of our children.
A syllabus of the children’s curriculum is available in Elaine Bonner’s Office. It provides an overview of the purpose, goals and content of the curriculum used in the children’s classes.
Children of any age are welcome to remain in the sanctuary during the worship service. However, the church does offer nursery care for Infants and Toddlers, a worship curriculum for Two and Three Year olds during the worship service and during the sermon for Pre K and Kindergartners. Parents are encouraged to actively help their children learn to worship. There is a separate flyer with tips on how you can encourage your child to participate in the worship.
Wednesday Kids’ Camp
9 – 10 weeks in the Fall and Spring from 3:30 – 5:30 P.M. ending with a Dinner and program.
Four Year Olds (by September 1) through Fifth Grade Children (Middle School and High School students participate as helpers)
The main focus of Kids Camp is for the children to have fun memorizing and understanding the children’s catechism. During Kids Camp we hope that the children will learn to build strong relationships with each other, while having the opportunity to experience and develop the talents that God has given each one of them. Our music section will include the use of the musical instruments, sight reading, singing skills, and creative expression.
A week of activities for children four years olds through Fifth Grade is offered during the summer. (Middle School and High School students participate as helpers).
Ledgewood Outreach Ministry
Trinity adults and youth participate in a time of Bible Study and fellowship for the children at the Ledgewood Housing Development in Oakley. We meet on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Trinity.
Child Safety Policy
A copy of the child safety policy is available in Elaine Bonner’s office. The purpose of this policy is to maximize and protect the safety of our children and the adults who work with them.
