 Rev. Chad Smith, Lead Pastor – Ext. 303 | EMAIL

          Chad and his wife Jennifer have been married for 16 years after meeting at RUF during their time at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville). They have 3 beautiful children (Amelia, Ben, and Elliott).

          After graduating from UT with a BA in History, Chad worked in small business for a while in Knoxville and then served on staff of two churches and along the way graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS with a Master of Divinity. Chad was the RUF Campus Minister at Belhaven University in Jackson, MS for 4 years and for 5 years at East Tennessee State.

          Enough of that though....Chad loves spending time with his family, reading a little, hanging out with people, watching movies and listening to music a lot!

Rev. Joe Mullen, Associate Pastor – Ext. 306 | EMAIL

          Joe grew up in the NYC metro area (his favorite building is the Empire State Building!) until he was 18, and then joined the Navy. He heard the gospel while stationed in the Aleutian Islands and through the ministry of the Navigators, began to grow in his Christian life.  He and Brenda met at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, got married and became school teachers. They now have two grown sons with families of their own!

           Joe received his M.Div. from Biblical Theological Seminary and his D.Min. from Westminster Theological Seminary. He pastored New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach for 25 years, then he and Bren moved to Asheville in 2009.

          His hobbies are reading, exercising, astronomy, playing with grandkids, and the arts. Joe loves the beach and the mountains!

 

Rev. Stephen Bates

Assistant Pastor to Youth and Families - Ext. 307 | EMAIL

          Stephen and his wife Anna fell in love at Covenant College and have been married for 3 years. They moved to Trinity from St. Louis in the summer of 2016.

          After graduating Covenant College with a BA in Biblical Studies, Stephen attended Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO and graduated with a Master of Divinity. Stephen had the privilege of being a pastoral intern at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church and Trinity.

          Stephen enjoys quality children’s books, listening to the same audiobook over and over again, nostalgia, cooking with unfamiliar ingredients, chilling with their dog Sal, podcasts, running, and every aspect of life with Anna.

Anthony Moore, Music & Worship – Ext. 301 | EMAIL

          Anthony and wife Dawn have been married for 13 years. They have two children: Anna and Josh.

          Anthony has served as the Director of Music and Worship since 2000.  He plans the weekly liturgy and coordinates the musical elements of the worship service.  Since 2002, he has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Montreat College, teaching courses in Music Theory, History, and Worship Arts.

          He studied music composition at two great basketball schools:  UNC-Chapel Hill (B.M.) and Indiana University (M.M and D.M). Information about his music and his blog are available at songofendlessyears.com

Joy Voigt, Women’s Ministries - Ext. 331 | EMAIL

Joy grew up in southwest Florida, but headed to the mountains in 1992 to attend Covenant College, where she met her husband Aaron.  They have been married 23 years and have 2 grown sons and 2 daughters-in-law; Spencer and Jordan, Stuart and Miller.  Some favorite activities include; date nights with Aaron, dinners with friends, tennis, snowboarding, biking, travel and the beach!  Joy has a heart for loving people through relationship and hospitality, and a true desire to encourage and equip women to live out the gospel in their varied life roles.

Elaine Bonner, Children’s Ministries – Ext. 304 | EMAIL

Elaine and her husband, Tom, have 4 children - a son, daughter in law and a daughter and son in law. They have 4 grandchildren. Elaine has been Director of Children's Ministry at Trinity for 25 years. Working with the children, their parents and the members of our congregation is an incredible blessing from God for me - and a lot of fun!

 

Helen Harrison

Assistant to the Pastors & Communications Director - Ext. 308 | EMAIL

          Helen and her husband James live in West Asheville with their two girls Eve and Hazel. They've been married since 2010 and love living in their hometown.

          Helen graduated from Montreat College in 2010 with a degree in Elementary Education, and has worked for the past several years in office administration. She has been on staff at Trinity for 3 years.

          Raising her girls, throwing pottery, and enjoying all that Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains have to offer are just part of the long list of things she enjoys in her day to day life.

Tish Hawks, Office Manager & Children’s Ministry - Ext. 305 | EMAIL

         Tish has been a member of Trinity since 1978 and has been on staff since 2011. Tish has two married daughters, two great son in laws, and 5 wonderful grandchildren. She feels blessed that she is able to see them often since both families live locally.

          After managing Medical and Dental offices for many years, she has enjoyed the opportunity to work here at Trinity helping in the office as well as being part  of our growing Children’s Ministry.

Karen Pick, Bookkeeper - Ext. 302 | EMAIL

          Karen has been an Asheville resident and Trinity member since 1986. She loves this church body and serving in the church office. (She has been keeping the books for almost 25 years.)

           She has five grown sons: Christopher (and his wife Brittany) in Dallas, TX; Josh and Ben in Asheville; Caleb (and Jeongsim) in South Korea; and Daniel (and Sarah, and their three children) in Lancaster PA.

            When not working, Karen enjoys working in her yard during the warm weather, and curling up with a good book in the winter time.

Elizabeth Kerns, - Youth Ministry Assistant | EMAIL

           Elizabeth Kerns and her husband Hutch moved to Asheville in 1999 from Anchorage, Alaska. They have three children; Hutch, Elliot and Gillian and a menagerie of pets. Elizabeth graduated from Auburn University with an English degree, which she counts among her talents of untangling stuff and stunt flossing.

 

            Elizabeth has worked at Trinity as a Youth Assistant for longer than you may think, and is the only geriatric youth worker currently residing in the United States.

Tina Robinson, Preschool Director - Ext. 322 | EMAIL

          Tina Robinson has been serving the community at Trinity for over ten years. She has her Early Childhood credentials and additionally is a CNA.

           Tina has a love for children that is hard to parallel. She goes above and beyond to create a loving, safe, educationally intentional and fun environment for all of the children at Trinity's Preschool. We are truly blessed to have her leading our team.

           Tina has been married for 31 years and has 4 sons.
